APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COUNTING WALKING STEPS USING THE VARIATION OF IMAGE FOCUS VALUES

PURPOSE: A walking steps method and a device thereof are provided to calculate the number of walking steps based on the change of focus values of an image obtained through a camera installed on a walker. CONSTITUTION: A walking steps method comprises the following steps: obtaining on image from a camera installed on a walker; calculating a focus value of each frame about the obtained image(S903); counting the number of changes of each frames in a change graph as the number of walking steps(S915).
