Means for feeding hay to a baling chamber 27 includes feed fingers 58 . . . 58 carried by a carriage 49 mounted to reciprocate on upwardly facing inclined guide surfaces 74, 75. The carriage 49 comprises two channel - section guides 50, 51 carrying plastic guide pads 71, 72, 82, 83, (84, 85) engaging Z-section guide rails 59, 60 which include the guide surfaces 74, 75. The feed fingers 55 . . . 58 are resiliently mounted in brackets 52 . . . 54 for movement between positions seen in broken lines in Fig. 2 (not shown). The resilient mounting includes a triangular section pivot pin 63 and sleeve 66, and three circular section resilient plugs 68, 69, 70 which are deformed to oval shape as seen in Fig. 4 when inserted into the hub 87 of the finger. The invention is applied to the baler described in Specification 1,157,321. |
