METHOD FOR DETECTION OF HEPATIC TUMORS USING REGISTRATION OF MULTI-PHASE LIVER CT IMAGES

PURPOSE: A method for detecting hepatoma is provided to automatically detect the hepatoma using a B-spline deformation model based non-rigid registration and a normalized mutual information based rigid registration method. CONSTITUTION: Multi-phase 3D CT image data is obtained from a liver(S110). A global movement between multi-phase 3D CT image data is corrected by the normalized mutual information based rigid registration method(S120). A local movement between the multi-phase 3D image data is corrected by the B-spline deformation model based non-rigid registration method(S130). The multi-phase 3D CT image data is integrated(S140). The hepatoma is detected using integration information and the subtraction information(S150).
