A water-soluble detergent composition comprises from 5% to 80% by weight of a sulphate of the formula ROSO 3 M and 95% to 20% by weight of a sulphate of the formula RO(CH 2 - CHX-O) n SO 3 M wherein R is a hydrocarbon radical containing at least 8 carbon atoms and derived from an acyclic secondary alcohol, X is hydrogen or a methyl radical, M is a monovalent water-solubilizing cation, e.g. sodium or ammonium, and n is an integer of from 1 to 10.</p> |
