PURPOSE: A multimedia device and a file list classifying method are provided to reduce time for searching a karaoke file by preferentially displaying a preferred file after sorting different kinds of files. CONSTITUTION: Each file list for different kinds of files which are stored in a storage is generated and saved(S10). Resorting is requested after displaying the saved arbitrary one file list(S12). After searching the saved other file list, the sorting method corresponding to the searched file list is found. The arbitrary file list is resorted by using the sorting method and displayed(S17,19). A user can select a file among the file lists(S20).
