<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which facilitates selection of the best imaging mode in accordance with imaging conditions. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging device 3 converts light from an object into an electric signal, a video signal processing part 4 generates a video signal based on the electric signal, and a face detection part 5 detects a face of a human contained in the object and the sex of the human on the basis of the video signal. An on-screen display generation part 8 generates an on-screen signal of a menu image for selecting a prescribed imaging mode from a plurality of imaging modes, and a display 10 displays the on-screen signal. When the face detection part 5 detects the face of the human and the sex of the human, a control part 6 controls the display state of the menu image so as to make the display state of the menu image to be displayed on the display 10 be different corresponding to the sex. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
