<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus normally detecting an immobile object even when an automatic day/night function for changing the luminance and color of the entire image is operated during an immobile object detecting operation. <P>SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus, when an imaging mode is switched by the automatic day/night function, a reference image stored in a reference image storage part 106 is updated.
