PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation abnormality detection method for a rotating shaft suitable as a galling detection method of a rotating shaft of a boom in regard to a yard movement machine. SOLUTION: The rotation abnormality detection method for a rotating shaft detects abnormality of a sliding state between a rotating shaft fixed to a rotated object by a rotation stopper, and a rotation support body supporting the rotating shaft. A strain gage is attached to a fitting part neighborhood of the rotation stopper of the rotating shaft and/or the rotation stopper, and on the basis of output change of the strain gage, abnormality of the sliding state between the rotating shaft and the rotation support body is detected. When applied to a yard movement machine, the rotation support body is a bracket on a base of the yard movement machine, the rotated object is the boom, and the rotating shaft is a connection pin.
