PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that prevents the degradation in image quality between lines the polarities of which are inverted upon displaying an image of a specified pattern, the degradation caused by changes in the displacement of a common voltage from 0 [V] each time of inserting a blanking period in a source block inversion driving. SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal panel 1, voltages are applied in such a manner that polarities of the voltage applied to the liquid crystal are inverted in each line block consisting of a plurality of lines along the sequence of data writing by a data drive circuit (source driver 10) and a counter electrode drive circuit (common electrode drive circuit 15). Column blocks are defined as blocks by dividing a plurality of pixel electrodes for each of plurality of columns; and between two adjoining column blocks in the above column blocks, a gate drive circuit (gate drivers 11 to 14) applies a voltage to different gate lines as objects to which the voltage is to be simultaneously applied.
