<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control transmitter allowing display of a display means to be easily viewed, and easily operable, in relation to a remote control transmitter mainly used for operating various types of electronic apparatuses. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A control means 17 detects the voltage of a battery 8, and can change pulse output to an illumination means 5 in accordance with the voltage, whereby, when the battery 8 is exhausted and the voltage is dropped, the control means 17 detects it, and increases pulse width to be output to the illumination means 5, and the average current flowing to the illumination means 5 can be kept constant, and thereby this remote control transmitter capable of carrying out bright and excellent illumination by a light emitting element 5B, allowing display of the display means 2 to be easily viewed and easily operable can be provided.
