<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a CPU (Central Processing Unit) to forcibly return from a hang-up state when a time during which a wait signal is asserted exceeds a prescribed time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A data processor includes: a conversion circuit for asserting the wait signal to stop data transfer by the central processing unit; a time measurement means wherein a timer starts when the wait signal is asserted, for measuring a lapsed time after the wait signal is asserted; and an initialization execution means for making the central processing unit initialize an interface and the conversion circuit when the timer of the time measurement means exceeds a prescribed time-out time.
