<p>The lock (1) comprises a frame (2) which is arranged to be secured on the outside against a first side (8) of a tubular member (7) of a hinged gate and at least one bolt (4) which is arranged to extend through said tubular member (7), out of a second side (10) thereof, into the keeper device (11). The keeper device is mounted on a fixed member (12), which is usually a pole arranged in the ground. In order to make it more difficult to force the gate open by inserting for example a crowbar between the gate and the fixed member, the lock and keeper set comprises security means (23 - 26) arranged to prevent the gate and the fixed member (12) from being forced apart sufficiently to disengage the bolt (4) from the keeper device (11). These security means comprise first security means (24 - 26) which are arranged to be secured to the frame (2) of the lock (1) and to project from said second side (10) of the tubular member (7) to extend, in the closed state of the gate, behind second security means (23) on the keeper device (11). <IMAGE></p> |
