An apparatus for use by a player in playing a card game including: a receiver for receiving a signal indicative of an identity of at least one playing card dealt to the player during play of the card game from a dealer; a means of displaying an image representing the identity of the at least one playing card on a display panel by reference to the received signal; and wherein at least a portion of the display panel is adapted to simulate a physical characteristic of at least one real playing card.
