Specifically disclosed is a method for producing a carbon nanotube, wherein a pulse plasma discharge is caused between carbon electrodes in a liquid in the presence of a catalyst. The catalyst is preferably selected from the group consisting of group 6-10 metals and compounds thereof.</p>
