PURPOSE: A composition containing salmon fraction-dried powder or extract thereof is provided to suppress total cholesterol content and to prevent and treat arteriosclerosis. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating arteriosclerosis contains 0.1-50 weight% of salmon fraction-dried powder or extract thereof as an active ingredient. The fraction is obtained by dividing salmon body, intestine, head, fin, bone, cartilage, muscle, eye or gill. A method for manufacturing the salmon fraction-dried powder comprise: a first step of washing salmon and removing salinity and foreign materials; a second step of cutting salmon to obtain fraction; and a third step of freeze-drying fraction and pulverizing.
