<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for improving the efficiency of retrieval of document data. <P>SOLUTION: An image (page turn display image PM) indicating the enlarged contents of specific document data out of a plurality of document data is displayed on a center portion (enlarged display area 2) of a display area 1, and thumbnail images T indicating the contents of the document data are displayed over the almost entire area of an endless band-like remaining area (thumbnail display area DR3) obtained by excluding the enlarged display area DR2 from the display area DDR1.
