PRIVATE ACCESS POINT BEACON SIGNALS IN WIRELESS NETWORKS

This patent application relates to private access point beacon signals in wireless networks. A private access point (202) periodically transmits (1502) an EV-DO beacon signal on one or more carrier frequencies used by a macro access point (108). The private access point (202) stops this transmission when each access terminal authorised by and registered on the private access point (202) is registered on the private access point (202) for both EV-DO and 1xRTT communications.
