PURPOSE: A polyimide resin and a film are provided to be applied in the field requiring transparency and low birefringence and to be used as an optical base film or a coating agent. CONSTITUTION: A polyimide resin is formed from a polyamic acid polymerized with diamine and dianhydride. The diamine contains 10 mol% of 1-(4-aminophenyl)-1,3,3-trimethyl-1h-inden-5-amine. The polyimide resin has 0.01 or less of birefringence index after film formation, 85% or more of average transparency at 380~780 nm, and 3.5 or less yellowness index after film formation. The polyimide resin comprises at least one selected from silica, titanium oxide, layered silica, carbonate, alumina, silicon nitride, boron nitride, calcium hydrogen phosphate, calcium phosphate, and muscovitum as filler.
