LIGHT EMITTING DIODE FOR AC OPERATION

PURPOSE: A light emitting diode for an ac operation is provided to improve photonic efficiency increasing the number of light emitting cells driven by an AC power among light emitting cells arranged on a single substrate. CONSTITUTION: A first or a fourth serial arrays(21,22,23,24) of light emitting cells(20) are arranged on a single substrate. Bridge units(31,32,33,34) interlink the first or the fourth serial arrays each other. The bridge units comprises a respective diode(30). The output terminal of two bridge units are connected to the input terminal of the second or the third serial arrays between the first serial array and the fourth serial array. The input terminal of the first serial array is connected to the output terminal of the second serial array. The input terminal of the fourth serial array is connected to the output terminal of the third serial array.
