PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a control method thereof are provided to display a desired screen effect by folding or bending a flexible display unit without repetitive inputs through a user input unit. CONSTITUTION: A control unit displays a photographing image on a flexible display unit(S200). The controller decides the sensing of a signal through a first area of a bend sensor(S205). If a signal is not sensed through the first area, the control unit decides the sensing of a signal through a second area of the band sensor(S215). If a signal is sensed through the second area, the control unit changes areas except for the shape of a user into an arbitrary color(S220). The control unit transmits a distorted image or transformed image to an opponent(S225).
