<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved device, system, and method for monitoring the performance and function of the heart both inside and outside of a medical facility. <P>SOLUTION: The method for measuring cardiac performance parameters includes a step of generating a change in at least one of the volume and pressure in the heart chamber, a step of measuring a change in at least one characteristic of the heart chamber caused by the change in at least one of the volume and pressure, and a step of calculating at least one cardiac performance parameter based on the rate of the change in the characteristic measured for the generated change, in the time selected during cardiac period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
