DISTORTION COMPENSATOR, OPTICAL RECEIVER, CONTROL METHODS THEREFOR, AND OPTICAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distortion compensator capable of performing nonlinear distortion compensation with high accuracy, to provide an optical receiver, to provide methods for controlling them, and to provide an optical transmission system.

SOLUTION: Disclosed is the distortion compensator 20 where an electric signal obtained by photoelectrically converting an optical signal received from an optical transmission line is inputted. The distortion compensator is configured so that a plurality of distortion compensating parts 25 which are provided with a liner distortion compensating part 22 for compensating linear waveform distortion of the optical signal and a nonlinear distortion compensating part 24 for compensating nonlinear waveform distortion of the optical signal, are cascaded. The optical receiver is also provided.
