<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical microscopic system dispensing with balance adjustment even if an auxiliary optical device is added. <P>SOLUTION: An assistant mirror 34 as an auxiliary optical device is attached to the luminous flux takeout part 31 at the lower end of a suspension arm 20. Further, a video camera 35 as the auxiliary optical device can be attached to a luminous flux takeout part 33 on an opposite side if necessary. Since not only the assistant mirror 34 but also the video camera 35 attached if necessary are attached to the suspension arm 20 not rotated in a right and left direction X or to the body part of an surgical microscope 15 they are not rotated in the right and left direction X even if the weight in the right and left direction X is unbalanced.
