PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control voltage output to a developing device considering influence on image formation by a change in the atmospheric pressure, without having to provide an air pressure sensor in an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a charge device which charges a photoreceptor; an exposure device which exposes the charged photoreceptor to form a latent image; the developing device which develops an image, by making the toner adhere to the photoreceptor; a transfer device which transfers the toner adhered to the photoreceptor to paper; and a fixing device which fixes the toner transferred to the paper. The image forming apparatus includes an applying means for applying a high voltage as a power supply for each device; a detection means to detect a leakage current caused when applying the high voltage; and a control means to control the high voltage to be applied to the developing device, according to the leakage current detected.
