PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a placing method and a joint structure dispensing with height adjustment when placing a horizontal member such as a beam or a girder on a predetermined receiving part of a column, a bridge pier, or the like. SOLUTION: Placing side steel plates 3, 4 provided at the predetermined space side ends of girders 1, 2 arranged to face with a predetermined space, so as to project in the longitudinal direction, are placed on a receiving side steel plate 6 provided at the upper end of the bridge pier 5 so as to be orthogonal to the placing side steel plates 3, 4.
