<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eyecup for an eyepiece, which also corrects astigmatism. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the eyecup 4, an astigmatism correction lens 6 is attached to its inside, thus an operation can be carried out with astigmatism corrected by the astigmatism correction lens 6. This enables an operator to observe an operation field more sharply, and reduces the operator's fatigue. In addition to the astigmatism correction lens 6, various optical filters or a diopter lens may be provided on the eyecup 4.
