<p>Disclosed is a touch panel device which is capable of simultaneous multipoint detection and eliminates the need to increase the number of electrodes, and the individual push-down points of which are accurately determined. A touch panel device (1) comprises a touch panel (4) including rectangular crossed electrodes, a matrix detection means (5), a matrix storage means (6), and an analog detection means (7), wherein the matrix detection means (5) performs digital matrix detection, determines the crossed matrices of the push-down points, and stores the matrices in the matrix storage means (6), and the analog detection means (7) applies an analog detection system to electrodes which form the crossed matrices stored in the matrix storage means, thereby calculating the positions of the push-down points. Also disclosed is a method for detecting positions on a touch panel similar to the touch panel device.</p> |
