INTERFERENCE TYPE OPTICAL FIBER GYRO

Provided is a small-size high-performance optical fiber gyro.  The interference type optical fiber gyro includes a light multiplex/demultiplex unit which branches the light from a light source and introduce the branched light into an optical fiber coil so as to be rotated as a clockwise (CW) light and a counterclockwise (CCW) light.  The light multiplex/demultiplex unit combines the lights and emits the combined interference lights.  The light source has a light emission unit and an excitation light source which excites the light emission unit.  The light emitted from the light source has a center wavelength in the range from 400 to 900 nm and a half-value full width of 1 nm or above.
