PURPOSE: A multimedia device and a method for managing equalizer information of an mp3 file are provided to implement reproduction corresponding to recorded equalizer information when reproducing an mp3 file in other multimedia device. CONSTITUTION: A method for managing equalizer information of an mp3 file in a multimedia device comprises a step of replacing genre information among tag information of an mp3 file with equalizer information(S13), and a step of recording identification information indicating the replacement with the equalizer information in comment information among the tag information(S18).
