<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with excellent efficiency of using light. <P>SOLUTION: A display device 100 includes a lens unit 4 between a lighting device 5 and a transflective display panel 3. The lens unit 4 has a plurality of concave lenses to guide at least a part of light out of light proceeding from the lighting device 5 to a reflective region, to a transmissive region formed thereon. The concave lenses are cylindrical lenses arranged so as to overlap with the reflective region continuing along a pixel row.
