<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimum illuminator operation device and method, for designing an illumination to attain desired illuminance distribution in space as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: The optimum illuminator operation device S includes: a storage part 3 for storing shape/optical characteristic data expressing the shape of a space in which an illuminator is to be arranged and the optical characteristic of a space surface, the arrangement position data of the illuminator and the light distribution characteristic data of the illuminator, and storing a plurality of data of at least either one of the arrangement position data and the light distribution characteristic data; an input part 1 for inputting desired illuminance distribution in the space as target illuminance distribution; an illuminance distribution calculation part 41 for determining the illuminance distribution in the space as a calculated illuminance distribution based on the shape/optical characteristic data, the arrangement position data and the light distribution characteristic data; and a difference operation part 42 and an illuminance distribution selection part 43 for selecting the calculated illuminance distribution most similar to the target illuminance distribution from a plurality of determined calculated illuminance distributions as an optimum illuminance distribution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
