<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst which is heated together with organic matter contained in waste plastics or medical waste, and can thereby efficiently decompose and gasify the organic matter, and a method of pyrolytically decomposing the organic matter, using this catalyst, as well as a method of manufacturing the catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: First, the grinds of an inorganic oxide represented by titanium oxide, are stirred/granulated into a spherical granule in the presence of at least, one kind of sol selected from the group consisting of titania sol, silica sol, alumina sol and zirconia sol. After that, this spherical granule is calcined at 400 to 850°C, and the inorganic matter comprising the spherical granule with a particle diameter of 0.1 to 1.2 mm obtained by sieving, a pore volume of 0.1 to 0.3 mL/g, a tap density of 1.05 to 1.4 g/mL and a wear rate of not more than 2 mass%, is obtained and used as the catalyst for pyrolytically decomposing the organic matter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
