摘要 A rubbery copolymer of a major proportion of a C4 to C8 mono-iso olefin and a minor proportion of a C4 to C10 multi-olefin and a more highly unsaturated natural or synthetic rubber are co-vulcanized by sulphur in the presence of bismuth oxide and/or cuprous oxide. The highly unsaturated synthetic rubber may consist of a polymer obtained by the polymerization in aqueous emulsion of a conjugated diolefin, e.g. butadiene, isoprene, piperylene, dimethyl butadiene, and 2-chlorobutadiene-1,3, singly or in combination, or by the emulsion copolymerization of such diolefins with styrene, a -methyl styrene, p-methyl styrene, a -methyl p-methyl styrene, acrylonitrile, methacrylonitrile, chloroacrylonitrile, methyl acrylate or methacrylate, or methyl vinyl ketone or mixtures thereof. Alternatively, the synthetic rubber may consist of polymers of 3-chloro-butadiene-1,3, 3-bromo butdiene-1,3; 3-cyano butadiene-1,3; chloro isoprene, bromo isoprene or cyano isoprene, or copolymers of butadiene-1,3 or 3-chloro-buatdiene-1,2 with vinylidene chloride, p-chloro styrene, or methyl a -chloro acrylate; copolymers of 3-chloro butadiene-1,2 with acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile; and copolymers of 2,3-dimethyl butadiene with either 3-chloro butadiene-1,3 or 3-cyano butadiene-1,3. The vulcanizable mix preferably contains 2 to 30 parts by weight of bismuth or cuprous oxide or mixture thereof, 100 parts total rubber, 0 to 50 parts zinc oxide, 2 to 50 parts sulphur, and 0 to 2 parts of sulphur-containing accelerator such as tetramethyl thiuram disulphide or tellurium diethyl dithiocarbamate.
