PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus capable of simply and accurately dispensing a plasma sample and a blood corpuscle sample. SOLUTION: In a blood sample dispensing method, the blood sample, which is housed in a specimen container 9a and separated into a plasma layer and a blood corpuscle layer, is dispensed by a specimen dispenser 20. The specimen dispenser 20 equipped with a pressure detecting means is equipped with a detection part 18b for detecting a pressure change at a plurality of the places different in height in the blood sample housed in the specimen container 9a using a dispensing probe 20b, an arithmetic part 18c for detecting the boundary surface of the plasma layer and the blood corpuscle layer on the basis of the pressure change to calculate the height data of the blood corpuscle layer, and a control part 15 for controlling the suction of the blood corpuscle sample on the basis of the height data of the blood corpuscle layer.
