<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exclude content supposed to have already been deleted from a processing result in searching or browsing, and to restore deleted content without re-registration. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A content management method includes: a medium identification process for identifying a medium; a content comparison process for comparing a content list in the medium with the content list saved previously in the same medium; a content storage process for storing information on the content and the medium in which the content is saved; and a content state storing process which records the state of the content whose state is different from the previous one in the content comparison process.
