PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron-based high-temperature alloy containing about 20 wt.% of Cr, several percent by weight of Al and a small amount of other components and having good mechanical properties and very good oxidation resistance at the operating temperature up to 1,200°C, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The iron-based high-temperature alloy has the following chemical composition (as represented by weight percent): 20% Cr; 5 to 6% Al; 4% Ta; 4% Mo; 3 to 4% Re; 0.2% Zr; 0.05% B; 0.1% Y; 0.1% Hf; 0 to 0.05% C; and the remainder Fe and unavoidable impurities. The alloy can be produced at a low cost and is distinguished from known prior art by outstanding oxidation resistance and good mechanical properties at temperatures up to 1,200°C.
