PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods of and devices for curing ventricular remodeling and reversing atrioventricular valve by locally treating configuration distortion of a ventricular support structure. SOLUTION: The method and device restor the normal geometry of a heart including the structures supporting the atrioventricular valves. The techniques and devices described herein operate on the principle of displacement, both active and passive, to reverse cardiac remodeling and limit ischemic atrioventricular valve regurgitation.
