PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for image formation which is fixed only on a desired position of a recording medium without causing offset phenomenon in high-speed output, and which has excellent low-temperature fixability and hot storage resistance; a one-component developer and a two-component developer; and an image forming apparatus and an image forming method using the toner for image formation. SOLUTION: In the toner for image formation, a release agent includes a fatty acid and/or a fatty acid ester and a protein, wherein the highest endothermic peak of the protein is detected at≥140°C by DSC and the mixture of the fatty acid and/or fatty acid ester and the protein has a protein content of 50-75 wt.% as measured by the Kjeldahl method.
