[Also in Division A4] A toy vehicule having sprung vehicule wheels is provided with windscreen wipers which are operated by means of a wheel mounted on the base plate which, on depression of the vehicule body, rotates as the vehicule is moved, motion converting arrangements being provided to convert the rotary movement of the wheel into reciprocatory movement of the wipers. A windscreen washer is also provided. The vehicule shown in Fig. 1 has windscreen wipers 10, 11 individually secured to two oval-shaped plates 12, 13 which are pivotally mounted on wing members 14 extending from a support secured to the base plate 15. Integral with the support is a platform 16 rearwardly supported by pillars 17, 18 secured to the base plate 15. A pin 19 is situated on the platform around which a pretensioned spring wire 20 is wound. The two strands of the wire engage with a pin secured to a bell-crank lever 22 pivoted on the platform and then cross over the ends entering holes 23, 24 in the two plates 12, 13. The wipers are operated by rotary motion of the wheel 25 which in the unoperated condition is above the plane containing the lower edges of the four vehicule wheels 27 and 28. As the vehicule wheels are sprung, depression of the vehicule body towards the rear thereof will cause the wheel will engage the running surface, and as it is rotated the bell crank lever 22 undergoes a reciprocatory movement due to the pin 37 riding in track 36. This causes flexing of the wire 20 and causes the ends to be drawn together thereby rotating plate 12, 13 and hence the wipers 10 and 11. With the arrangement shown in the drawing the wipers move in different directions - outwardly from the centre of the screen. Alternative arrangements may be made to give different movements e.g. a single wire controlling one of plates 12 and 13 with a mechanical link between the plates results in the wipers moving in the same direction. The windscreen washing arrangement is shown in Fig. 4. The support 14a secured to the base plate comprises a circular bore 41, one end terminating in a circular extension 43 to which a compressible reservoir 38 is attached and the other being closed by a bung 42. The reservoir is located between a spring 31 and the bonnet of the vahicule. A passage 44 in the support connects the reservoir with a nozzle 40 which projects through an aperture in the vehicule body. Downward pressure on the vehicule body towards the front end thus causes upward movement of spring 31, compressing the reservoir 38 and causing a jet of water to be ejected in the direction of the windscreen.
