<p>Provided are a relay apparatus, a method therefor and an authentication system that use such a card or a portable device that even if the card or portable device is analyzed, the password thereof necessary to use services cannot be determined, there exists only one password that must be memorized, and that there exist no service providers that could easily abuse the information of authentication. The relay apparatus comprises a means for storing information obtained by encrypting information necessary for the user of an account to connect to at least one server; a means for authenticating the user of the account via a network; and a means for authenticating the card or portable device possessed by the user of the account. When the user of the account and the card or portable device possessed by the user of the account are authenticated, the stored information of the user of the account is sent to the user of the account.</p> |
