Provided is a fuel battery power generation system having excellent power generation efficiency and durability. A fuel battery power generation system comprises a fuel electrode (2), an oxidant electrode (3), a fuel battery (4) having an electrolyte (1) in which the fuel electrode (2) and the oxidant electrode (3) are formed, an output control section (11) for controlling the output of the fuel battery (4), and a determination section (12) which determines the time required for bringing the fuel battery (4) into open circuit state from an accumulated amount of impurities contained in oxidant gas and supplied to the oxidant electrode (3), wherein the output control section (11) stops power generation of the fuel battery (4) for a predetermined time and brings the fuel battery (4) into open circuit state at every time determined by the determination section (12).
