<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera with a barrier, eliminating space for entering of dust or the like between a barrier unit and a camera body, preventing the surface of the camera body from being damaged when the barrier unit is moved, and always stably moving the barrier unit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The camera with the barrier includes: a photographing lens 16; a barrier means 12 provided on the front of the camera body movable between a position to cover the front of a photographing lens and a position to retreat from the front of the photographing lens; and a sliding member 25, which is provided on the back of the barrier means so that the barrier means is deformed toward the surface of the camera body with manual operation to prevent the surface of the camera body from being damaged by the barrier means, is urged to always abut on the surface of the camera body, and slides on the surface of the camera body with the movement of the barrier means.
