<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for removing scum, in which thin film-shaped scum can be discharged efficiently into a pipe skimmer in a short time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for removing scum is provided with: the pipe skimmer; a guide piece which is arranged on the lower side for forming an opening to be arranged on the pipe skimmer and is extended by the predetermined length to the upstream side of a water current while maintaining such a depth that the tip thereof is positioned below the scum to be generated on the water surface when the opening is positioned on the water surface; and a jetting means which is arranged at a predetermined position on the upstream side of the tip of the guide piece and from which water is jetted toward the opening when a part of the opening is positioned under the water.
