<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably produce ions and to charge mist with produced ions. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A mist producer 1 is equipped with a corona discharge part 10 constituted so as to heat and boil the liquid such as water stored in a liquid storage part 6 by a heater 7 to produce mist and applying high negative voltage across a discharge needle 12 and a ground electrode 13 to produce corona discharge to thereby produce negative ions. Further, an ion discharge orifice 14a for discharging the negative ions is arranged in the vicinity of the mist discharge port 9b opened in the leading end of a mist nozzle 9 to discharge mist, and an electromagnetic valve 15 for mist is arranged to a mist flow channel 8 for transferring the mist produced in the liquid storage part 6 to the mist discharge port 9b.
