PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a joint part provided between a plurality of heat insulating panels arranged at the outer wall of a low temperature tank that can secure high heat insulating performance by preventing the occurrence of convection in a joint material even when the thickness of the heat insulating panels or the like is extremely increased. SOLUTION: The plurality of heat insulating panels 10 are arranged to cover the outer wall 1a of the low temperature tank 1, and the joint material 12 is provided between the inner layers 11 of the respective heat insulating panels 10. The joint material 12 is divided in a plurality of sections by the faces orthogonal to a thickness direction, and a partition member 13 is provided between the divided joint materials 12. The thickness and a gas penetration coefficient of the joint material 12 are set so that the correction Rayleigh number does not exceed the critical value of the occurrence of convection on each of the divided joint materials 12.
