<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood splitting machine innovative and extremely high in commercial value. Ž<P>SOLUTION: There is provided the wood splitting machine for splitting firewood 1. For the wood splitting body 3 having a wood mounting part 2, there is provided an edge 4 that is located at one end side of the wood 1 mounted to the mounting part 2 and also a wood supporting part 5 is provided which is located at the other end side of the wood 1 mounted to the part 2 and capable of relatively approaching the edge 4 freely. The machine has a rotating part 7 that is rotatable by the pedaling operation of the part 6 and the approach driving mechanism that is installed adjacently to the rotating part 7 linked to the rocker 10 that rocks by the pedaling operation of the pedaling operation part 6, and makes the edge 4 and the wood supporting part 5 approach by the rotation of the part 7.
