<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an error diffusion processing apparatus capable of achieving high-speed operation processing when executing an error diffusion operation at the same clock timing on two pixels at every other pixel, the two pixels being designated as concerned pixels, respectively; and to provide an error diffusion processing method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: At a clock timing next to a clock timing at which the error diffusion operation is executed on two pixels at every other pixel (two pixels of odd-numbered ones or even-numbered ones) designated as concerned pixels, an error diffusion result of the pixel adjoining the concerned pixel is obtained by a CWAa 707a. An error diffusion result of the pixel adjacent to the concerned pixel by two pixels is obtained by a CWBa 708a at the same clock timing as that for the error diffusion operation on the concerned pixel.
