<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out high-quality color reproduction by executing gamut compression in accordance with a feature quantity of an object, and to adjust, to one another, the colors of similar objects among pages wherein one job comprises a plurality of pages. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A page acquisition part 101 acquires drawing data on a page basis, and an RIP part 102 expands the drawing data into a bit map and attribute information. A similarity determination part 104 carries out similarity determination for every block of bit maps with the same attribute information provided thereto. A gamut compression selection part 106 selects a gamut compression method suitable for a similar object, and preserves information with the object linked to the selected gamut compression method in an image storage part 103.
