<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design support system and design support method of a process facility for efficiently and optimally performing the design of a process facility. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A system examination flow creation part 40 creates a system examination flow by setting equipment specification data and utility specification data, and an energy flow creation part 42 calculates an exchange caloric value by equipment configuring the system of the process facility, and creates an energy flow by setting the exchange caloric value, equipment specification data and utility specification data to the system examination flow.
