<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device capable of highly accurately moving a member to be driven while considering the driving characteristics of piezoelectric actuators; and to provide an optical device. <P>SOLUTION: The drive device includes an actuator 10 formed by attaching a drive shaft 2 to a piezoelectric element 1, expands and retracts the piezoelectric element by a drive signal and allow the drive shaft 2 to reciprocate in response to the expansion/retraction operation of the piezoelectric element 1 to move the member 3 to be driven frictionally engaged to the drive shaft 2. The drive device includes a control section 81 for dividing a moving range Z where the member 3 to be driven moves into a plurality of ranges Z1-Z10 and changing the waveform of the drive signal for each of the plurality of ranges Z1-Z10 so that the moving speed of the member 3 to be driven may be the same within the moving range Z, thereby reducing the difference in speed depending on the frictional engaging position of the member 3 to be driven.
